Episode 119: “Living Centered in the Story of Your Life”

Featuring Chanel Dokun

This week on the podcast, Hannah and Nicole sit down with certified life planner and relationship expert, Chanel Dokun, to dig into what it means to truly live the “good life.” So often we pursue this ideal by striving after external markers of success (building enviable careers and crafting the picture-perfect life to name a few) in an attempt to satisfy our longing to live a better story than the one we are writing. Through sharing her personal story with us, Chanel delightfully maps out the journey from stress and disappointment to joy and contentment as she has learned to walk into her unique power and purpose. In addition to her empirical experience, Chanel draws upon the wisdom gleaned from her coaching work and therapy training to frame the process of creating the life you’ve been waiting for. You won’t want to miss this inspiring conversation!

Living Centered Program

Life—it can be so overwhelming.

So often we move through it so swiftly and efficiently that we subconsciously begin to muscle through each day without even blinking. We don’t have time to get that workout in let alone tend to our internal landscapes, so we bypass our trauma, sidestep our emotions, and keep it moving. Our daily actions have become completely disconnected from our purpose, our dreams, and our desires. It was all working…until it wasn’t. The cracks begin to appear.

The Living Centered Program is our response to this phenomenon—we want to help you quiet the noise and bring you back to center. Living Centered is an invitation home to your true self.

What is the Living Centered Program?

The Living Centered Program is a six-day workshop led by expert therapists who will guide you in exploring, deconstructing, and rewriting your narratives. Our beautiful campus and retreat-like setting allows you a break from your daily distractions and provides the clarity needed to re-establish congruence between your feelings, values, and actions so that you might live a more intentional, meaningful, and fulfilling life.

This world-renowned group experience is specifically designed to meet you right where you are. Our team will help you connect your past and present experiences and work through issues such as trauma, depression, anxiety, codependency, loneliness, childhood wounds, family dysfunction, negative relationship patterns, or simply the stresses of daily life.

LIFE STARTS NOW: How to Create the Life You’ve Been Waiting For

Chanel Dokun knows how you feel. She spent the first half of her life focusing on achieving and attaining the lifestyle she thought she wanted, but found herself feeling disappointed, disillusioned, and like she’d lost herself while running after success. She realized that the world’s definition of accomplishment was not a true measure of a life well lived—she needed to redefine success and become the architect of her own life.

Chanel gives readers practical tools to help them create the life they’ve been waiting for, sharing:

  • Why society’s definition of significance isn’t the answer in our search for more
  • The hidden reason why we’re discontent
  • Practical action steps to unlock our genius and discover our unique life purpose
  • The five postures of silence, solitude, generosity, gratitude, and play that can help us move from striving to thriving

Life Starts Now shows us that when we release the search for significance and recover a redemptive view of an ordinary life, we can experience profound joy and fulfillment–and embrace the wild wonder of the lives we’ve been given.
