MEET THE PANELISTS

Austin Houghtaling, Ph.D., LMFT

Onsite VP of Clinical Services

Austin completed his undergraduate schooling at Brigham Young University, his master’s degree in human development and family studies at Auburn University, and his PhD in marriage and family therapy at Texas Tech University with an emphasis in addictions. He is a licensed marriage and family therapist and has completed an externship in emotionally focused couples therapy. Austin’s clinical experience includes inpatient and outpatient drug and alcohol treatment with individuals, couples, and families, as well as in-home family therapy with at-risk children and working with adolescents in the juvenile justice system. He also has experience working with individuals transitioning from prison. 

More recently, Austin’s clinical focus has centered around developing and facilitating trauma-informed experiential therapeutic intensives for individuals, couples, and families, including personal growth workshops, intensives for healthcare professionals, and multifamily group intensives and couples’ retreats for veterans in various cities around the country. 

Prior to working at Onsite, Austin was a senior clinical director at Caron Treatment Centers in Pennsylvania. Austin has been a frequent presenter for various audiences nationally. Austin grew up on the Oregon coast and is happily married with three miracle children. 

Megan Repass, MS, CCTP, LADAC II, CCM 

Program Director, Milestones at Onsite + Onsite Adventures

Megan serves as our program director for Milestones, overseeing the everyday program logistics, direct care staff, and operations of the equine and adventure therapy programs at Onsite. As an experienced administrator, and certified equine, wilderness, and adventure therapist, Megan brings a unique skill set to the Milestones program.  Megan earned her Master’s Degree from Lipscomb University in psychology and a license in substance abuse counseling. She is a certified clinical trauma professional and utilizes modalities such as EMDR, IFS, psychodrama, and experiential therapy. Furthermore, she is skilled in and passionate about working individually with clients to explore spirituality. She works on a regular basis with clients who may be searching for a higher power, struggling with feeling disconnected from God, or having experienced deep hurt in a religious setting. 

Megan additionally serves as the director of our Onsite Adventures program. Blending her extensive time spent as an outdoor educator and backcountry guide with her experience as a trauma therapist, Megan is able to craft distinct outdoor experiences that are curtailed to client needs 

Prior to Onsite, Megan was the director of an equine and adventure therapy program at one of the country’s largest residential facilities, working with clients in treatment for addiction, eating disorders, co-occurring disorders, and trauma. In addition to residential treatment, Megan has been an outdoor educator, leading backcountry expeditions for at-risk youth for over 12 years. 

Veronica Scruggs, M.Ed, LPC 

Clinical Group Specialist

Veronica is passionate about helping others connect to themselves, their purpose, and their identity through the work she does week in and week out for Onsite workshops and intensives as a Group Specialist.  

She holds a Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio 

Prior to coming to Onsite, Veronica served as a Co-Occurring Psychiatric and Substance Use Disorders (COPSD) Counselor at Nexus Recovery in Dallas, TX, where she was responsible for women and their children dealing with addiction and co-occurring disorders, including individual and group counseling sessions, in a residential treatment setting.
