Episode 044: “Living Centered and Reconnecting the World”
Featuring Chris Coleman
On this special episode of the Living Centered Podcast, Miles sits down with acclaimed artist and musician Chris Coleman. Chris recently partnered with the Onsite team to create a series of art pieces featured in our new video, Reconnect the World. During this interview, the two discuss the beautiful role the creative process has played in Chris’s journey and his passion for helping people reconnect to themselves and ultimately reconnect the world.
Meet this episode’s expert
Chris Coleman lives a full life as a husband, father, musician, entrepreneur, photographer, and painter. His journey as an artist first brought him from Atlanta to Nashville to pursue his musical dreams in 2002.
He has traveled the world playing music (with rock band Luna Halo, his wife Holly Williams, and the Kings of Leon).
On his travels, he began pointing his camera to share his adventures with fans, as well as sharpen his artistic eye.
Still yearning for more forms of artistic expression, Chris started painting simple images that reflected his love of history and the Old West. On paper with black paint, brush and finger, he created powerful images that evoke strong emotions from the viewer, a longing for what was or might have been.
Chris began to share his work with family and friends. Their response led him to start selling his works at White’s Mercantile, owned by Chris and Holly. Most of his work is done at his house in 12th South in Nashville, TN just down the street from their “general store for the modern day tastemaker”.
One follower describes his work as a “minimalist style that doesn’t dictate the story but rather beautifully allows it.” Working rapidly in a kind of stream of consciousness style,
Chris produces works that are truly one of a kind.
