This iconic river is surrounded by striking landscapes, including rugged gorges, sandy beaches, and sun-soaked canyons, providing a dynamic and breathtaking backdrop for your adventure.
Do I need to have prior whitewater rafting experience?
No prior rafting experience is required! Our professional guides and wilderness therapists will provide expert instruction and support, ensuring you have a safe and enjoyable experience, regardless of your skill level.
Do I need to bring my own gear?
No, all necessary gear is provided. This includes tents, sleeping bags, personal flotation devices, helmets, camp chairs, waterproof bags, and eating utensils. You just need to bring personal items and an open mind ready for adventure.
What are the accommodations?
The program begins and ends with lodging at the Hells Canyon Grand Hotel in Lewiston, Idaho. While on the river, you’ll camp on sandy beaches under the stars, with your own personal tent included in the program cost. Meals on the river will be expertly prepared by our guides, ensuring a delicious and nourishing experience.

Guided by seasoned wilderness therapists, you’ll explore what keeps you “stuck” in your life and learn to navigate through obstacles with confidence. What physical requirements should I meet to attend this trip?
Hike up to two miles unassisted. Swim in flat water and whitewater while wearing a personal flotation device (PFD). Board and disembark rafts multiple times daily, including navigating uneven terrain. Carry personal gear (20-30 lbs) from the boat to the campsite.
What if I’m nervous about rafting or camping?
Feeling nervous is completely normal! This program is designed to help you step out of your comfort zone in a supportive and safe environment. Our guides and therapists are highly skilled in helping participants gain confidence and find joy in the adventure.
What are the group dynamics like?
The group size is intentionally small—8 clients and 2 clinicians—to create an intimate and supportive atmosphere. You’ll have opportunities to connect with others, share experiences, and build meaningful relationships throughout the adventure.
What should I bring?
A detailed packing list will be provided after registration. Essentials include personal clothing, toiletries, sunscreen, and any medications. All rafting and camping gear will be provided.
